high voltage

The March HobbledeCLUB is finally/officially available for pre-order.  The theme, HIGH VOLTAGE, will be represented with some pretty-amazing colors in a really fun format.  I can't wait to start drumming these up!  I could have sworn that the listing was up on Wednesday night, but alas... well, you get the picture.  ;)

The colors are going to be punchy and electric, and the format, well, it's a first in the HobbledeCLUB so far (hint hint).

an apology

I'm so sorry that I have been so web-ishly unorganized, updating my shop without consistent across-the-board notifications.  Until Ingrid started daycare, I was a once-a-day email checker, but now, time is slowly becoming more abundant, and I'm planning on taking the following approach to updates:

-Announcement on Ravelry of tentative upcoming updates
-Newsletter, Twitter, and Facebook Fan Page announcements approximately 20 minutes before update begins.
-Announcement of update's conclusion on shop's front page.

I'm totally flabbergasted and thrilled by the recent sell-outs of fiber, and I'm definitely learning to grow as business grows.  Thank you all for your kindness, encouragement, and patience!  March is going to be an amazing month, and I can't wait to leap into the new month with a fresh supply of time.

xoxo

an update on the update

Ingrid's naps have not aligned with the weather and sunshine, so I haven't had a chance yet to do a photo shoot for my next update.  I'm really hoping to get a chance tomorrow, now that I've cleared all of the surprise snow off of my balcony.

While the delay hasn't resulted in more product or productivity, it has given me a chance to brainstorm about my Spring collection of batts.  I'll be unleashing 6 repeatable colorways mid-March which will be created in MASS quantity (by me, of course).  This gives sweater/blanket/large-project spinners plenty to work with.  As usual, I'll still have one-of-a-kind random batt sets available, but by having a collection, I hope to inspire spinners who are growing tired of working with 3-5 oz. of each colorway.  Closer to the launch, I'll post sneak-peak pictures and a give-away.

I'm so excited!

cabin fever

I hope most of you had a chance to experience the fluke Spring-time days this week!  I finally was able to take Ingrid outside for more than two minutes, and she happily stomped around the yard with her new wobbly walking skills.  Somebunny also has a brand new rock collection, mostly stones from the driveway that get stuffed into little pockets.

Indoors, I've been spinning a couple of special orders, one of which is 6 skeins (!!!) of Pink Sugar.  It has been a very long time since I've had a chance to sit and focus on spinning, so this custom project was a much needed combination of relaxing and HOLY PINK & RAINBOW SHAZAM.

Other than yarn, I haven't had much of a chance to finish any other projects, so my next update is postponed until Monday or Tuesday night, although the March HobbledeCLUB will be announced and listed tonight (because I'm listing it a little late this month, it will be available for purchase clear until March 3rd, and it will ship by March 10th.)

The next update will include at least a dozen painted BFL braids, a couple of Merino/tencel and Merino/bamboo braids, BFL batts, hand-pulled rovings, and a few handspun yarns.  I just finished painting all of the braids this morning, and my afternoon is booked solid for carding and pulling roving while Ig is at Grandma's house.

Finally, here's a quick peak backwards at selection of past weeks' painted braids.  Some are still available over at HobbledehoyFibers.com.

Batt-wings

I know that the woolly season is still in full swing, but wow- my batts must have wings!  They're flying out of the shop within hours (and often minutes) of an update, as are my new hand-painted braids, hand-pulled rovings, and HobbledeCLUB Subscriptions.  I'm humbled by these recent sell-outs, and would like to know how customers would like to be notified of updates -- blog, twitter, facebook, ravelry, or newsletter?

Little Ingrid has started daycare/pre-school a couple of days a week, but so far, she's only tolerating an hour or two before going into mama-missing-meltdowns, so I'm not back to my full-time work schedule yet, but I anticipate within a month I should be.  Until then, I've been pulling late nights with the dye pots and carders, and am spending my days happily sorting puzzles, building towers, and reading board books under blanket forts.  I'm in no rush to push Iggy's transition, especially since she's barely been around other children or adults outside our family.

As far as the HobbledeCLUB goes- I've shipped the February installments, and am preparing to announce and list the March theme this week.  I'm going to be increasing the price slightly (to reflect the quality of fibery ingredients!) but that won't affect current subscribers or those who order before the price changes.

Finally, look for a slow increase in the un-dyed fibers as I increase stock and begin to build an online retail shop for spinners.  The whole shebang will probably take a year to complete, and will be a side-project to the batts and roving that I'm currently working on.  In the end, however, I'm hoping to have a very diverse selection of spinning fibers along with sampler sets, spindles, and maybe a few surprises!
